The couple’s foundation was introduced to billionaire Robert Smith, who is well known for agreeing to pay off student loans for Morehouse College grads, as the first step in this journey. The trio is working to extend Smith’s Student Freedom Initiative from nine to 29 partner colleges.
The group will support undergraduates at historically Black colleges and universities, among other objectives. This will be a means for Black students to avoid taking out expensive loans with exorbitant interest rates.
Participants will “pay it forward” towards the next generation of Student Freedom Initiative scholars rather than repaying their funds.
In addition, the program is expected to collaborate with Cisco and AVC Technologies/Computex to update technology infrastructure at several HBCUs. Finally, Smith’s InternX program will offer students extra job-hunting options and internship chances.
Scholarship Program for Minority Students
This is yet another scholarship accomplishment by the well-known comedian and TV presenter.
Steve Harvey and his wife founded the Coca-Cola “Pay It Forward” Scholarship Program in collaboration with Coca-Cola.
The Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation runs this student funding program. Applicants can enter for a chance to win an apprenticeship with Steve Harvey and a $5,000 academic stipend.
A $1,000 gift card will be given to the runners-up in this scholarship competition. Participation in the Steve Harvey Mentoring Program will be an element of the apprenticeship.

If students keep a 2.5 (GPA) grade point average, the scholarships will pay four years’ Tuition. The scholarships are named after Devin Moore, a senior Kent State journalism student from Cleveland who unfortunately died while playing basketball at the school’s recreation center.
The charity has impacted the education system, demonstrating that giving and goodwill can alter kids’ lives, and it hopes that other celebrities will jump on board.
In complement to the scholarships, Harvey’s charity gave a $10,000 donation to Kent State’s Men Empowerment Network (MEN), affiliated with the school’s Student Medical Centre.
