The Borno state scholarship is part of the Borno government’s social welfare program and corporate duty to the state’s residents.

The scholarship, usually awarded through the state Bursary is offered to assist students in public tertiary institutions, especially those who are financially handicapped.

About the Borno State Scholarship Board

There are two categories of scholarships offered by the Borno government. There are Local scholarships and international scholarships.

1. Local Scholarship: You can get this scholarship if you are a Borno state student serving in any public College of Education, Polytechnics, or Universities across Nigeria.
2. International Scholarship: As a state resident studying in a tertiary institution outside Nigeria, you can apply and get this scholarship.

Borno State Scholarship Requirements 2024

For you to apply for the Borno 2024 scholarship, you must meet certain conditions, and they are:

• You must be a Borno State indigene
• You must be an undergraduate in any recognized public institution in Nigeria, be it a College of Education, Polytechnic, or University.
• You must be a Borno State resident currently admitted to any recognized tertiary institution abroad.

How to Apply for Borno State Scholarship

1. Log on to their official website
2. Click on Apply.
3. Select the category of scholarship you intend to apply for.
4. In creating an account, make sure your email is valid.
5. To verify the account, a confirmation link will be sent to your email. Click on the confirmation link, and you will be directed to the login page.
6. Fill the login space appropriately, inputting your email address and password.
7. You will be directed to the payment page after logging in. There you can make your payment.
8. After making your payment, you will be allowed access to fill in the application form.
9. The application is divided into stages. Complete each stage by providing the necessary information. After every stage, click on save and proceed to the next stage.
10. In the first stage, you will be asked to upload and save a recent passport photograph. Remember to keep all your documents handy.
11. The next stage involves inputting your academic details.
12. In the next stage, you must provide any employment details in case you are working. However, this stage can be skipped if you are not officially employed.
13. Next stage, you will be asked to provide your bank details.
14. Next, you will be asked to provide the details of two referees to stand for you.
15. Next, you will be directed to the upload page, where you will be asked to upload your documents: scanned copies of your admission letter, indigene certificate, and school ID.
16. Before you click on submit, you are advised to go back and review everything you have inputted. After you are sure that everything is correct, you can submit it.
17. Note that your application will go through a series of reviews. So, make sure all your information is accurate.
18. Lastly, you will be asked to submit your printed application form alongside the following documents: admission letter, school ID, and Indigene certificate to the Borno State Scholarship Board.
